How to choose your compressor ?
Volume (m3/h) :
Piston compressor delivery rates are expressed as the swept volume. This is the volume drawn in by the compressor and not the delivered volume.
To calculate the effective delivery rate :
-
Single-stage blocks (cylinders of the same diameter) = 85% yield from swept volume.
-
Two-stage blocks (cylinders of different diameter) = 75 % yield from swept volume.
-
The yield from our low-speed cast iron blocks is unrivalled on the market.
Cast iron cylinder blocks :
Provide better cooling and therefore better yield than aluminium blocks.
Air regulation, there are 3 regulation systems :
-
1 : The control relay acts on the regulation forks fitted on the cylinder head, which push the suction valves at the required pressure. The compressor runs idle. This system is called the Dashpot.
2 : The control relay acts on a valve which blocks the intake (generally at the air filter).
This system often causes oil blowback resulting in high oil consumption.-
3 : The control relay acts on the retention valve which then exhausts the air rather than sending it to the tank.
The drawback is that the compressor block still runs under compression.
90% of our blocks use system 1, which is the most expensive, but the most "intelligent".
Automatic low down speed :
This is installed as standard on 90% of our stand-alone compressors*. During regulation it allows the engine to run idle. This reduces noise, consumption and engine wear. We have opted for a double-acting jack system, which is the most straightforward and reliable.
The tank :
We are frequently asked for large tanks. Through their design, Engine compressors, unlike electrical compressors, do not need a large tank. Only the effective output is important. However, a buffer tank is necessary to absorb momentary overconsumption.
This is why tank volumes for stand-alone compressors are so low.
* except for liquid-cooled compressors which run slowly and therefore do not need to idle.
Guernet company and garage equipments
A new activity Guernet ?
After 55 years of specialization in compressor field, Guernet Company revives its activity of garage equipments sale.
Jean Guernet, the founder of the company, started its activity in 1910, in Nanterre, in “Equipments for gasoline cars” field. Then, in the twenties, the battery charger was patented by Guernet Company. The company supplied a lot of accessories for garage before going into compressors construction at the end of the twenties.
In 2008, after several years of specialization in the compressor field supplied for cars environment, Guernet Company decided to design and market its first compact heavy transport machine combined with a compressor. For that reason, Guernet company markets today a full range for car world.
Legit, professionalism, specialisation, innovation, service will be the catchwords of our new guidance. Our whole team is happy to present you our new range.
